Software Engineer
Hi, I'm Damien, a Software Engineering student at the University of Ottawa. I've done a production internship, built tools at hackathons, and shipped full-stack side projects. I like taking messy problems and turning them into clean software that people can actually use.
I'm a Software engineering student at the University of Ottawa. I did a software internship at MCB Group and I build projects on the side, mostly full-stack web apps and hackathon tools.
I work mostly in Python and JavaScript, with Flask, React, and SQL. I've also used Docker, Git, and a bit of AWS. I like building things that actually work and learning new tools along the way.
I speak English and French, and I enjoy working in a team.

Full-stack fitness tracker with a 6-table schema and 20+ routes for workout logging and custom splits. Added drag-and-drop reordering, rest timers, and PR detection via SQL aggregate queries, plus a persistent user-selectable color system.

A tool that analyzes planned flight trajectory data to detect and resolve airspace conflicts and congestion hotspots. Integrated the OpenRouter AI API (LLaMA 3.1-8B) to predict conflicts and suggest advisory operational adjustments.

A chess-playing bot built on the Lichess API that competes against other bots in real time. Implemented Minimax with Alpha–Beta Pruning and Iterative Deepening, tuned for fast, accurate decisions under hackathon time limits.
Jul 2024
Built and programmed an autonomous robot with C++ and Arduino, integrating sensors and motor control for self-navigation and obstacle avoidance. Applied line-following, sensor calibration, and automation logic, tuned through iterative testing.
